Medicare Australia began processing hearing service claims on behalf of the Office of Hearing Services (OHS) in May 1993. In 1999 OHS/Medicare Australia introduced an e-Claiming facility to expedite payments to contracted service providers. E-Claiming enables providers to submit claims to us through its web site and currently more than 90 per cent of all claims are processed this way.
